Hello my friends in the world of entertainment. I wanted to tell you about a professional I had the priviledge of meeting as well as working with, Pierre Edwards. He is a well known comedian from Washington D.C. He has starred in the movies, "For the Love of Money", "B.A.P.S", "The Wash", and "How To Be A Player". He also has done stand up for "Def Comedy Jam" and places all over the world and he continues to do shows presently. This guy is such a go getter! He is such a humble and down to earth person. Some celebrities you meet think that they don't have to talk to the fans and think it's all about them, but Pierre isn't like that. He keeps it real with you, as well as make you laugh, and also he's a hardworking man. I'm not only saying that I have witnessed it. After working with him on set, it made me look at what I normally complain about and I told myself to shut up! :) It also made me push myself into getting back focused on what I am trying to go into and get it started asap! It's so good to meet people who went through some tough times through life and keeps pushing and continue the passion in what they love doing. His fans are asking to see more of him and he is working hard in producing movies to show that "he got this". He still is performing here, there, and everywhere and keeps a smile on his face. He has written a book called "My 100 Homies and Phonies of Hollywood" that is a must read. I already read half the book in one day! This book is not a small book either. If you don't have the book please get it, you get to know him and his humble beginnings coming into the world of comedy and entertainment and he tells you about celebrities he's met. Even though he took a little break in entertainment, when he's out in public he still gets the appreciation from his fans. Everyone loves Pierre!!!
Well I had the honor of meeting this guy through networking and a friend of mines that's in the entertainment field as well, who has met Pierre before I did and talks to him. To make a long story short Pierre was holding auditions in Atlanta for his upcoming film. He had already made Movie 1 this one was Movie 2. Me and my friend went for this opportunity, I'm not an actor but I believe when a door to opportunity opens take it! I auditioned for two parts for the movie and boy was I nervous, but I did what I had to do to get through it. Pierre was in on the auditions of course, it's his movie. There were a nice number of people there and I felt like I did ok but there are real actors here. A couple of days later I got a call to be an extra in the movie, I was excited, Pierre gave me a chance. I was sent an email with info for the scene I would be in and time and place. I could not sleep the night before the set and the shoot for this scene literally was all day. Pierre knows what vision he wants in his movie and works hard to perfect it. That's how everyone should work in something they love and create. I got to meet other actors and celebrities in the industry and everyone was so down to earth and worked well together. Pierre held a Film Festival to show Movie 1 the following Saturday, personally I did not expect him to make it because he shot the film all day, the day prior and that day of the festival. That shows you how dedicated he is. He also answered questions and talked to fans in the lobby and took pictures. He tells you, "When I say I'm going to do something, I do it". If I don't follow anyone else's footsteps, it would be his because he knows how to get what he wants done. Be on the lookout for Pierre Edwards movie Slice 1 and Slice 2, it's a horror/ comedy and a must see, and I will be in it too. :)
